Sophia Loren Dark hair, striking green cat eyes, voluptuous figure; these are just a few ingredients that make Italian silver screen siren Sophia Loren such a timeless beauty.  Over the years she has become a symbol of elegance, sophistication and sensuality. Schermafbeelding-2011-09-20-om-21.26.04Born on September 20, 1934 in Rome, Italy, Loren entered a beauty contest in Naples at age 15. Although she didn't win, Sophia would fall in love with one of the judges, her future husband, Carlo Ponti. After studying acting for a few years, Loren landed her first job as an extra in Mervyn LeRoy's Quo Vadis. She then went on to star in the highly acclaimed Italian films Aida (1953) and Two Nights with Cleopatra (1953). In 1957, Loren made her Hollywood debut with movies such as Legend of the Lost with John Wayne, and The Pride and the Passion in which she starred alongside Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant.  Today Sophia Loren is one of the most admired and respected woman in Hollywood. Though her acting skills have earned her two Oscars, Loren is also the first ever to win an Academy Award for a non-English-speaking performance. When asked how she achieves such effortless sex appeal, Loren has said “I think the quality of sexiness comes from within. It is something that is in you or it isn’t and it really doesn’t have much to do with breasts or thighs or the pout of your lips.” In regards to her famously killer curves, Loren responded "everything you see, I owe to spaghetti."
